HHH Equitherapy is a nonprofit organization
that is devoted to helping those with physical and mental challenges.
H H H Equitherapy uses horseback riding and other
horse related activities to help disabled children to improve balance, muscle
control and strength. Many participants believe that their horses have
helped them learn to walk again. Learning disabled and emotionally disturbed
children are helped by relating to the horse and caring for the horse in a personal
way. The Triple H is a Texas nonprofit corporation with 501-3 status.
The Center is a member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped
Association. HHH would welcome a donation to their scholarship fund, donations
of horse care supplies or food, or donations of new and used equipment such
as Western or English tack (saddles, bridles, etc.), Surcingles (for individuals
with cerebral palsy), saddle pads and blankets, grooming equipment, ASTM approved
helmets, and rubber riding boots. Good coastal Bermuda hay in square bales
is also needed. Another thing HHH is always in need of is volunteers.
We need side walkers and other helpers. If anyone wishes to donate,
or to receive additional information, please call (830) 510-9515
Note: Driving horse carts used to be one of the
activities that HHH provided. Their cart was borrowed and had to be returned.
They used it with a Clydesdale, and people on wheel chairs or with severe
problems that could not ride a horse safely, could use it. The cart was
borrowed and HHH eventually needed to give it back. A specially modified
cart would cost about $4000 and the harness would cost about $1500 so they doubt
if they will have one at HHH any time soon. They hope eventually they
will be able to provide carts as a type of therapy again. They have about
4 people right now who would really profit from cart riding therapy. You
should see their beautiful, gentle Clydesdale who would pull it. Maybe
they will be able to provide cart therapy again one of these days. If
you know of someone with such a cart, HHH would gladly accept it and the harness
as a donation.
