The Olde Oak Cottage is just minutes away from the beautiful Nueces River, 31 miles from Garner State Park, 45 minutes from Los Maples State Park, 45 minutes from Chalk Bluff Park, 3 miles to the Cooksey County Park and dam, 2 ½ hours from San Antonio.
Our Bed and Bath offers an enriched family experience. Come stay in this quaint unique blend of Victorian / Country décor, with rustic tin and old barn wood accents. The living room floor was restored to its original glory; others are painted in different colors. Tiny Christmas lights run throughout the house for glamour. Come and enjoy tubing on the Nueces and Frio Rivers. With hospitality at it’s best, this is a quiet little place you’ll love to stay. We’re sure you will love it and will want to come back.
“THE RAG’S TO RICHES ROOM” Sleeps two. It has a Queen size bed. The cozy atmosphere in this room will make you want to stay in bed and sleep all day. Enjoy a roaring fire in the native rock fireplace, built in 1932, while relaxing in the beautiful Queen size bed. It's laced with a lace canopy, finishing the setting. The room is joined by a beautiful bathroom, complete with a unique shower, antique dresser and sink. Furnished with towels and washcloths. Also has a clothes rack.
“THE ROOM WITH A VIEW” Sleeps Five. It has two double sized beds and one twin size bed. One of the double beds was made in 1935. This room has large windows, two homemade double doors that open onto a covered deck. We have a big backyard with large oak trees and plants, table and chairs and a Bar-B-Q pit. The name of this room speak's for itself. The attached bathroom from this room has an old antique tub with shower, enclosed with old barn wood. Towels, washcloths, and clothes rack also included in this beautiful room that's done in country style.
The living room is a wonderful place for relaxing, reading, listening to music, or just watching TV. It has a sofa sleeper that accommodates two people, along with comfortable chairs, beautiful lamps, tables, pictures, games, DVD player, And VCR with movies. Also has Direct TV Satellite. The kitchen is fully furnished with dishes, pots and pans, silverware, cooking utensils, a Crock Pot, Coffee Pot, a Fry-Daddy, Microwave, Stove and a Refrigerator. It is uniquely designed with wallpaper and border with many fun extras. Off from the kitchen is a screened-in porch with table and chairs. This screened in porch is designated the "Smoking Parlor", or just for relaxing and enjoying good clean air and the view. "SMOKING IS PROHIBITED INSIDE THE HOUSE" This beautiful cottage includes ceiling fans, 3 air conditioners, and heating. Two TV's with Direct Satellite, VCR & movies, games, ironing board with iron, outside Bar-B-Q pit. Also has two extra cots for sleeping. Rates: $120.00 up to 4 people $ 10.00 for each additional person Deposit required when making reservation. A two week notice must be given for deposit refund. No credit cards. We will take checks or cash. Small pets welcome Accommodations provided for larger pets with a 10' X 10' kennel in backyard. A $25.00 non-refundable deposit on all pet's. If no damage is done by pet's money will be refunded. This entire cottage is yours for the above fees. (We do not rent rooms separately.)
